Promises

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I last wrote something here.
Just a simple writing that I had with a sudden inspiration kind of thing, I suppose?
Been really stressful lately to be honest so this writing kinda helped a bit.
Pardon my mistakes here and there cos I got a bit sidetracked of what I was writing.

Promises

Does this word ring a bell in your head?

How exactly did you feel when I first mentioned this word to you?

What was the first thing that came across your mind?

Was it a person or was it something that you once said.

Different people of their perspectives brings different meaning and interpretation as to how these words mean.

Some may think lightly of promises, saying it just because it was in the spur of a moment. 

I promise to not leave you alone when you cry.

Some take promises seriously, like meaning each and every word that they said to their significant other before exchanging their rings. 

I promise to kill every single cockroaches that you will ever encounter.

Well, promises are like a bridge connecting two individuals.

A bridge built based on trust and faith towards each other. Believing that they will not betray each other until the end of time.

Not many can build such bridges that can last a lifetime.

Some bridges were burnt to ashes due to the complexity of a human's mind 

Whereas some bridges were left to rot as neither bothers to retain them.

These bridges were built easily at the very beginning as there were teamwork and efforts being put in to understanding each other.

It's where the sparks ignited. 

With continuous effort and interest, they have come to a mutual understanding and knowing each other at the back of their hands.

This is when it feels like they were made for each other. 

Like in fairy tales. 

Soon after, storms and droughts came by the bridge and of course damages were made. 

After putting a little bit of hard work into it together, the bridge was patched up.

It is still the same bridge but it never felt the same. 

The storms and droughts are signifying the obstacles in life that we have to pull through together that makes the bridge stronger and better.

Day by day, obstacles came and the change never seemed like going to end.

Thus, we change. Change for the better so that we can get ready for when the next obstacle comes. 

Things aren't going to get easier as time pass by but at the very least we can prepare better for it. 

To never gave up was what they learned. 

You see, life itself is a vicious cycle. 

If you can't put in effort in maintaining the connection between, someone else will and maybe they perform better than you when given the chance. 

Even though you think you are flawed, get yourself together and don't bother on what others may think of you. 

All we need to care about in this world are those who matters to us. 

To make promises to the people who mean the world to us.

Just like Nemo, it isn't going to be an easy journey to find them.

We'll just have to make do our very own Nemo that accepts all of our imperfections and still to be able to see us as who we really are. 

And together we can perfectly imperfect for each other.  

A promise that ties us together, forever.
