Of People and Lessons
You know what, after doing this for so long - I finally realized that I’m so much better at writing down my thoughts on paper rather than to have to type them. The only reason I do this is to have a digital copy that I can access anywhere at any time. The joy we have with technology, just at our fingertips.
As I was saying, I find it much better to keep track of my thoughts on paper because I have been staring at the screen for the past 15 minutes trying to think of what I should write but to come up with nothing. There were a few titles in my head but I can’t seem to find related content to pin them. That’s why I decided on this title.
I haven’t lived for very long but I do know that we will meet all kinds of people in this short lifetime of ours. For me, I personally believe that they are here to teach me lessons - those that are better having to learn the hard way, because humans just never learn when it is done the easy way.
Here’s what I would tell myself had I the chance to learn these lessons earlier;
Losing a loved one - Grieve as long as you need to. Cry as much as you want to. It’s okay to miss them occasionally but don’t be sad for too long. They wouldn’t want that for you either.
One of my favorite quotes from Tuesdays with Morris - “Death ends a life, not a relationship”. They still live in our hearts and we can always visit them from time to time.
Of heartbreaks - This won’t be the last. Make sure you choose wisely and think things through before making any decision. This may sound a bit selfish but do it for yourself. Go on a diet for yourself. Heck, eat ice cream if you want to because you deserve it. Here’s another quote as a self reminder - from Shonda Rhimes who wrote the famous Grey’s Anatomy series.
“Don’t let what he wants eclipse hat you need. He’s very dreamy but he’s not the sun, you are.”

Now that I’m done writing, feels like a personal note to self but I do hope that some of you would be able to learn these lessons much earlier - be it through the easy or hard way. It’s about time we learn to appreciate what we have rather than to keep dreaming about what we don’t, and not doing anything about it.
Lastly, I’ll leave you with the quotes below. Make sure you did it more than twice because I too didn’t get it the first time. Have a good weekend!
Till next time!
Love, Sara

Of gratitude - these are the kinds of people you should appreciate for they will be the ones who will stand by your side - rain or shine. They are the ones who will lend you a shoulder to cry out loud without minding the fact that their ears hurt so bad. These are the kind of people you should make time for because you know that they will do the same. (You might not ever find such people again, so treasure them)
Of patience - these are the kinds of people that will annoy the heck out of you, who makes sarcastic and unnecessary comments that (honestly) you don’t need to hear. As much as I want to tell you to ignore them, you shouldn’t. Try to listen to them without bias. For their sarcastic comments, never take their words seriously. If you think there’s a room for improvement, you can consider them then get their opinion. Rather than assuming that they aren’t satisfied with whatever you do, try it out and see where it leads you.
