Getaway Part 1 : KL

Hi again people, I know it has not been long since my last one but I felt the need to post this one up before my memory fades away and hope you're not surprised with the picture of Melody and I :)

As for the previous post, am glad to know that a number of people were interested in the story. Thankyous for the compliments you awesome people, really motivates me to write more somehow.

Meanwhile, I shall write about my adventure to the land of cats that happened in the past week.

It was towards the end of my second year studying in Kampar and the coursemates decided to plan a trip somewhere in Sarawak during our one month semester break. The last trip they had was in Penang and I felt bad for joining them only at their last day in Penang. So I decided to join in for this one even when I've been to Sarawak myself with the family like years ago. The trip to Sarawak was from 18th to 21st of May and I made my trip down to KL on 16th to have some fun before flying off to Sarawak.

16th May

First time boarded a bus from Penang and drop off at KL Sentral. Not a very peaceful 5 hours journey but I started getting all excited when I see the road signs leading to KL when I woke up. Was just fascinated by the vast difference between KL and Penang.  Anyway, met Mei Ting who was supposed to pick us girls up at Sentral and soon enough Mei XuanSi Yi and Ken met up with us for late lunch/tea time at Sushi Zanmai. As expected, the sushi and California roll were awesome. Soon after, the rest of us except Ken took the LRT back and Jun Ray with his scandalous partner, Kok Sim picked us up from the station and headed back to Mei Ting's house which the girls are gonna overnight at. Unpacked a few of our things and off to dinner at Burgerlab! Been hearing good comments about the burgers there so I kept mentioning about going there ever since.

This was what Mei Ting and I shared for dinner, called A+. It has mushrooms in it with Swiss cheese if I'm not wrong. The sauce is definitely something different and the charcoal bun was very soft when served. Only managed to take a picture of this burger only as everyone else was pretty hungry by that time the food was served. Overall the burger was pretty special and its similar to Spade's back in Penang. Definitely good service for that place.

Andrew called and joined us for dessert at Food Foundry. Serves mille crepes and coffee, too bad none of us wanted to sacrifice our sleep over a long journey that day. We shared over three flavours ; salted caramel (tasted like popcorn somehow), vanilla (which I like) and lavender (which others prefered the most). Had a short chat over the place before all of us left for home.

Once the guys dropped us back to Mei Ting's place, we noticed that her parents bought supper which we later ate them at 12 midnight cos we were still full after dinner and second round at that time. Thanks to that, I remember that night, we didn't really fell asleep until it was 3am-ish LOL the four of us were just talking away until we didnt realize the time.

17th May

Woke up slightly late than 7.30am and had breakfast made by Mei Ting's mom and off we left to the LRT station at 10am-ish to meet up with the PJ gang, before heading off to KLCC for lunch. Never knew taking LRT was so fun! Here's a selfie with Si Yi aka Miss Blur of the entire biochemistry family.

Another selfie with the "PJ gang" using iPhone *starts missing my old i4*

Lunch at Chilis! *checked*
Mei Ting has been bragging about the bottomless chips that you can get here and so here it is! Refilled this plate for like 6 to 7 times LOL
Too bad Andrew and Melody couldn't join us for this fun as they came later after our lunch.

& again we selfie! *prepare yourself for more selfies to come in this post and the upcoming one*

Off to the best bookstores to go to besides MPH ; Kinokuniya! Seeing all those books can easily make me happy, despite the fact that I did not bring my book vouchers to spend it there. Regretted ttm that I did not get to spend my book vouchers here. Was looking for interior designing kind of books, only to find out that they are located upstairs moments before leaving Kinokuniya. *emo* Had only like 10 seconds to look around before the gang decided to walk somewhere else.

Took this random photo while I was upstairs and ohmygoshh the coffee smells at the cafe upstairs was really good. It'll be so awesome to be reading a book while enjoying a cup of coffee/tea/juice at a quiet place like that. Some good company would be great too. Sorry Melody, couldn't really see the tiny you from this photo ><

The next stop was to go to Pavillion. So we started walking through these tunnels and passed by Aquaria when these little kids find that image projected very interesting. Fascinating would be another word I'd say. That's because the image would have some certain ripple effects as you step on it, as though you are really on the surface of water. So yeah, I don't mind this playful and childish side of theirs.

Walked and walked and finally we are in front of Pavilion and hence another selfie! No selfie stick is needed when we have the King of Selfie aka Kok Sim around. It's a compliment btw

Oh yeah before I forget, guess who we met at Kinokuniya bookstore? He's a famous Malaysian author named A. Samad Said who is famous for his works for one I knew called "The Dead Crow". It was a Form 1 poem that I had to study and the other poem that I could remember was Life's brief candle. You guys had no idea the story behind how we managed to get this picture with him *laughs*

We spent the entire day walking around KLCC and Pavilion area until it was 4pm-ish that we decided to go back and change. For some, it was to go back and pack for our Kuching trip for the last time as some of us are going to stay overnight at the airport that very night before our morning flight. I was excited back then, thinking about spending the night at the airport with some of them would be cool.

Hey, there's always a first time for everything alright? So don't judge.

Back at Mei Ting's place in time for early dinner and her mom was nice enough to buy us some bread to last us for the night and breakfast. Obviously, the bread only lasted for supper knowing the rest of us gang. Took some rest/nap before heading out at 9pm-ish as all of us are planning to take the 10.30pm bus from KL Sentral to Klia2 which takes about an hour journey.

Maybe it was due to my excitement that I couldn't sleep throughout the one hour journey unlike others who slept soundly in the bus. I just couldn't shut my eyes and even if I did there were so many things going through my mind and from there I decided to put them into sentences and then paragraphs. Without knowing, I spent the entire night or so just to complete the story I wrote which is the previous post. As everyone was curious of what I wrote throughout the journey, I kinda gave away the unedited version of it which might reveal about who I was writing about. I really hope I don't offend any of them. Again, I'm sorry. Guess now I'll never know whom did they think about while they were reading that story.

Reaching Klia2 we went to the food court on the first floor with the initial plan to watch football and have supper. In the end, it appears that spot became the place where we slept and talked until the next morning since it can fit so many of us and Si Yi gets to watch her favourite Shin Chan, Nah kidding. Everyone was tired out except Mei Xuan and I, it seems. All of us took turns looking after each others' luggages and some slept at the cushion kind of area as their necks hurt after sleeping at the table for some time. While everyone was in lalaland, Mei Xuan and I were just talking away while walking around the place for a little while.

I read from somewhere saying that only the truth comes out of people at the time of 2am until 4am. From this trip I can assure its partially true cos once the clock strucks 4am, all Mei Xuan can think of was just to have breakfast and ignored me (as usual). Oh well, that's what friends are for. Just kidding Mei Xuan, don't kill me when you see this.

Then again Mei Xuan, you need to look at this. Now what I'm not sure about what I said to you the other day *laughs*

Morning of 18th May

Time flies in a glimpse of an eye and it was time for the first batch's flight to KCH. I was in the second batch with Kok Sim, Si Yi and the other batch that stayed overnight at Ben's place since the second batch's boarding time was at 8am. Wanted to send the first batch to the arrival hall but epic fail. Hence, some of us resorted to McD breakfast to fill our stomach while waiting for the people who will board on the second batch's plane.

Entered the departure gate at about 7.30am which was still early and we stumbled upon this place where you can see all the planes coming in and out. This point of view was really beautiful especially when the sun is not up yet and it was a breezy morning too.

Boarded the plane and I managed to switch seats with Ben which then I switched with Mei Yee as she wanted the window seat. So I got the middle seat between an uncle and Kok Sim. Wished I swapped seats with the uncle beside me as the view of the clouds were sooo pretty that very morning. Nevertheless I took some pictures when I woke up from time to time during that 1h 45m journey. After not sleeping at the airport, I redeemed my sleep back on the plane throughout the flight.

Look at them fluffy cloudsssssssss.
Purposely switched on my phone to take this and then switched it off again and back to sleep LOL

Here's a picture of Kok Sim and I taking a selfie with him not knowing that there's a second picture being taken 2 seconds after the first. Oops.

Anyway, here's a proper one taken from his blog and both of us look nicer :)

Will continue the journey in Sarawak in the next post yo! Just keep checking on this space :D heh

Lots of love and lack of sleep,
Sara

p.s
when I told you that I really had fun in KL and PJ, I really mean it.
Thanks a lot for having me, you guys.
